Dave Matthews Band to Play at Kokua Festival 2008

We are pleased to announce that Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds will join Jack Johnson at the Fifth Annual Kokua Festival on April 19-20, 2008 at the Waikiki Shell in Honolulu, Hawaii.  All proceeds from the Earth Day weekend festival will benefit the Kokua Hawai’i Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Jack and Kim Johnson to support environmental education programs in the schools and communities of Hawaii.

Other artists in the Kokua Festival line-up include Paula Fuga and Go Jimmy Go, and Brushfire Records’ latest addition, the Hawaii-born, Minneapolis-based Mason Jennings.

Glide Magazine did a feature about Burning Man which sets off at the end of August.
I never realized that Burning Man was not considered a music festival, that they had no central booking committee. Any band that plays basically sets up their own stuff and creates their own camp or stage, it isn’t anything that was booked by the actual people that run Burning Man.
Personally I don’t know how interested I would be in attending Burning Man, I would lean much more heavily towards Bonnaroo or other festivals. While Burning Man comes off as an interesting social experiment I don’t …read more
