Bonnaroo Reviews: Some different news pieces from the festival

The lead up to and the reviews of Bonnaroo provided me with a lot of reading material leading up to the site launch. Here are a few postings that I clipped and noted, I figured I would share them with you.
Bonnaroo Review: Smaller Bands That Flew Under the Radar
Bonnaroo Wrap Up: All Good Things Must Come to an End
What did Variety have to say about the festival? It seems like they concur with a lot of other people when talking about the presence of John Paul Jones at the festival and him sitting in on more than one set.

My Favorite Concert Venues- Number 4

My Favorite Concert Venues- Number 4

With the summer music season in full swing, I was discussing with my friends what our favorite venues were. Our discussion ran the gamut from stadiums to amphitheaters to small clubs, with everyone chiming in on what they liked and why.
I figured that I would share a few of my favorites and have you share a few of yours. To give this some sort of build up I decided to do it top five style here were the previous four:
5) The House of Blues (Hollywood)
and now for number 4..
My Favorite Los Angeles Venue- The Wiltern Theatre

Random MySpace Band Review- Big Organ Trio

Random MySpace Band Review- Big Organ Trio

Band: Big Organ Trio

MySpace Page: http://www.myspace.com/bigorgantrio
Website: http://bigorgantrio.com
Classified as: Funk, Jazz, Jam Band
If you only have time to listen to one track listen to: Diva Mode
A Hammond B3 Organ, a bass, and drums is enough to provide you with a wall of sound, which Big Organ Trio provides you in spades. Their instrumental pieces bring as much power, range, and tone that any band with a lead singer could, their music is nuisanced enough to where you don’t even notice the lack of lyrics.
They offer up a unique sound that I really enjoyed and listened to for awhile when writing …read more

Camp Creek

Camp Creek

The Camp Creek Festival takes place at the Indian Lookout Country Club, in Mariaville, NY, their official website can be found here. Every year I have friends that attend Camp Creek and they swear it is one of the best festivals going, a lot of the time it looks like a show designed more for the geriatric hippie set, but looking at this years lineup is anything but.
Some of the people announced for the festival:
-Younder Mountain String Band
-Ryan Montbleau Band
-Sam Kininger Band
-Depth Quartet
-Gordon Stone Band
-Scarecrow Collection
-Ciderhouse
-…. and many more
One of the bands that really peaked my interest when looking at …read more

Fan Review Friday

Fan Review Friday

The last thing I wanted to do with this blog is turn it into a soapbox where my opinion is the only one heard. I am not an music elitist in the least and I don’t want this blog to come off as that at all.
One thing I am not a big fan of writing is music reviews, music is so subjective, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. I try to remain unbiased in reporting the news going on in the jam band world, covering bands that aren’t exactly my cup of tea. However in doing a review it …read more
