My Favorite Concert Venues- Number 4
With the summer music season in full swing, I was discussing with my friends what our favorite venues were. Our discussion ran the gamut from stadiums to amphitheaters to small clubs, with everyone chiming in on what they liked and why.
I figured that I would share a few of my favorites and have you share a few of yours. To give this some sort of build up I decided to do it top five style here were the previous four:
5) The House of Blues (Hollywood)
and now for number 4..
My Favorite Los Angeles Venue- The Wiltern Theatre
![]()
The Wiltern Theatre is a a National Historical Landmark, designed with an art-deco style, oh it also just happens to be my favorite venue in Los Angeles.
With a balcony level for seating and an open, multi leveled floor for general admission, you will not find a better sounding venue in Los Angeles. It’s design and style is something that makes it feel like your are going to event, not just a show. The lobby and theatre are in the same art deco style the outside is, making it an experience when going to shows.
Balcony seats are close but the floor offers a great viewing situation, as the floor is setup in tiers, making it not feel jammed and crammed. I have seen shows from both the floor and the balcony and I enjoyed them both.

Let me guess you are/were a big user of archive.org
I haven’t been to Cali yet but it’s on my list of places to visit. I wonder what bands play at the Wiltern. The Met Center near Minneapolis was where I saw AC/DC and Metallica. The sound was awesome.
It is mostly mid-level to just below mega acts… People not big enough to jam fill an arena but large enough for a mid size venue.
Archive.org needs more Garcia band!!!!
